An Elopement in Paris

Picture the scene… Running away, just the two of you, to tie the knot in one of the world’s most iconic (not to mention romantic) cities. You’ll have the chance to celebrate your love story in the way you’ve always wanted, while capturing unforgettable images around the city of love. We have seen a significant increase of elopements across the industry, predominantly due to COVID-19. I wanted to showcase just how wonderful an elopement in Pars can be for couples who perhaps have never considered this alternative and intimate option.

Paris is an effortlessly elegant destination, drenched in romance, sophistication and beauty. From the exquisite architecture to the style-conscious residents who walk its streets, it really was the perfect setting for our fashion-forward and utterly glamorous editorial. With a truly creative team of suppliers on hand, we wanted an ultra-glamorous shoot that encompassed everything that Paris has to offer to its couples.

We chose the luxury hotel, Shangri-La in the centre of Paris, as the main backdrop for our shoot, inspired by its crystal chandeliers and opulent décor. Just imagine serving up the finest champagne and decadent food worthy of royalty to really add the wow factor element to your elopement. Our tablescape in the Grand Salon, although just for two, was laden with delicious details and sparkly details. We opted for a gold, black and crystal colour palette to really add a touch of luxe to the overall vibe.

Our bride rocked a non-traditional wedding dress with alluring lace shoes, jaw-dropping jewellery and a sleek hairstyle – channelling those modern princess vibes! As a luxury French wedding planner, I designed the dress personally to complement the groom’s look and to hold a graceful film star movement. It really did have those Hollywood glamour vibes – cue Grace Kelly! She looked red carpet-ready, while our groom looked incredibly handsome and suave in black tie. The atmosphere was further enhanced with an angelic violin performance throughout the dinner, while I was on hand to ensure champagne glasses were topped up. Our wedding cake by A. Lacroix Pâtissier was a piece of edible artwork, working hand in hand with the classic Parisian set-up.

Of course, it goes without saying – if you’re getting married in Paris, you need a collection of photographs with the Eiffel Tower present. These signature shots throughout the shoot really do make me weak at the knees, with the stunning sunset and undeniable air of romance. We moved to the Shangri-La Suite which boasted a spacious terrace and unrivalled views across the Eiffel Tower – nothing beats that feeling of standing there and soaking up the view. At 7pm, the tower was lit up, offering us a spectacular night-time backdrop alongside the moon and twinkling stars. As part of our Paris elopement editorial, we also held a boudoir shoot in the Napoleon Bonaparte Suite. The beautiful intricate lingerie worn by the bride was designed specifically for Paris – it was sumptuous, luxurious and completely classic.

Recognised as a luxury destination wedding planner in France, I love every second of working with a talented team of vendors to bring a vision to life. From the hustle and bustle of getting ready, to the hype and preparation for the shoot, the months of creative visuals, design and research. There really isn’t anything more magical than seeing the results, ready and waiting to inspire couples!

If our styled shoot has left you feeling smitten, get in touch with me to find out more about my elopement wedding planning services in France. I can’t wait to tell your love story!
