Grace and Romain at Chateau Plombis

“Joanne has years of experience and expert knowledge and we knew she would deliver us an amazing day, which she did!”

Picture the scene… A magnificent chateau in Southern France, complete with an outdoor pool, dreamy surroundings, exquisite cuisine, and glorious sunshine. And you’ll find exactly that at Chateau Plombis, which is just one hour from Toulouse. Offering luxurious accommodation, not to mention the beautiful landscaped gardens, woodland and  surrounding meadows, you’ll have exclusive use of the entire venue for the duration of your wedding. It is no wonder that Grace and Romain chose it as the backdrop for their destination wedding in France this May.

When the couple approached me to be their wedding planner, they knew they wanted the whole of their wedding day to be outdoors – and luckily it was! Hosted over three days, they had live music, gourmet food, delicious wine and of course, the perfect company of all their families and friends. It was a weekend of celebrating, partying and making unforgettable lifetime memories. I asked Grace and Romain how they would describe their wedding day in three words, and they decided on, “Stylish, party, loving.”

Grace vision was a white, green, and pale peach colour scheme, with a ‘French chic’ vibe that suited the chateau beautifully. The bride-to-be looked an utter vision in a dress from Carla Jenkins, an Australian Bridal Designer. As she made her way down the aisle to meet her groom, the sun shone and the backdrop of the sunflower valley really did look stunning. Two large ornate urns were filled with beautiful florals, set-up in the woodland area at Chateau Plombis. “We loved the fairy-tale look of Chateau Plombis and the view is just breathtaking” explains Grace.

The wedding reception décor had a French countryside influence to blend with the surroundings and floral designs to complement this. Grace and Romain spoilt their guests with champagne, Chateau de Berne rosé (from where Romain’s family live), gin and bespoke cocktails, not to mention a gastronomic menu of seared scallops fresh form Arcachon sizzled with garlic king prawns, tartare aux deux saumons, followed by the finest bavette steak topped off with a salsa verde.. As the evening drew in, the newlyweds and their loved ones danced the night away to a DJ and sax with the floor filling band “Funky Fresh”.

A few words of advice from Grace, “Don’t get too caught up on the finer details, let Jo handle everything and you will have the perfect day”.

It was an absolute pleasure to work with Grace and Romain and create a magical wedding day! If you are looking to book a destination wedding in France, I welcome you to get in touch, my diary is open for celebrations in 2023 but there are only a few dates still available, so do not hesitate to book an appointment
