Reasons To Host A Weekend Wedding In France

As a luxury wedding planner in France, I love nothing more than working with couples who want to spend a weekend celebrating with their loved ones, taking the time to make memories and truly savour the moment. And the rumours are true – your wedding day really does go by in a flash! Here’s why I think you’ll adore the thought of a wedding weekend instead of a wedding day, making the ‘best day ever’ the ‘best weekend ever’…

Your wedding day really is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to celebrate, so why not extend it over a few days? As your French wedding planner, I can organise activities, such as private dining, boat cruises and exclusive tours. Or, as the pandemic has taught us so well, you can simply enjoy time together. A wedding weekend really does offer you the chance to spend time with those who mean the most to you – it’s not often you’re able to gather everyone you love in the same place! It’s also a great option for those who are travelling further afield to make their journey even more worthwhile! With extra fun activities planned for your guests, it means they’ll even get a mini holiday, be able to meet new people and enjoy events that wouldn’t have tried before.

My favourite destination weddings in France to plan are those that are extended over several days. The atmosphere, excitement and anticipation builds on the Friday when guests arrive. It also offers you plenty of time to set everything up ahead of the official big day, so that you can completely relax and unwind with your friends and family on the Friday evening. A wedding weekend in France also means you can celebrate the day after your wedding – perhaps a relaxed brunch in the sunshine (our in-house caterers can whip up an absolute feast for you). This is a lovely opportunity to reminisce about the day and exchange stories!

You may have already spotted our blog post talking about some of our favourite French wedding venues and you really will be spoilt for choice. A château wedding venue often comes with plenty of accommodation so that your closest friends and family can come and stay with you, not to mention outdoor pools, tennis courts and the most glorious gardens!

When I plan wedding weekends for my couples, I endeavour to make your French wedding venue feel like a home from home. It becomes somewhere that you can make it completely your own, filling it with those you love the most. I’ll work with you to ensure the entire experience is seamless, leaving you to celebrate in total comfort and luxury.
